Welcome to Rockford Lutheran School, home of the Crusaders. “Lutheran” is a co-educational, private, Christian school serving more than 700 students from age 3 preschool to grade 12 from across the wider Stateline area.

Crusaders are more than a score, a grade, a place on a team, or a chair in the band. Students are reminded daily that their true identity is as a child of God. Lutheran sees the big picture grounding in the rich traditions of Lutheran education – a picture of faith formation combined with academic rigor. We develop servants for the Kingdom, priding ourselves on providing leadership opportunities for students in worship, in the classroom, and in service to others. We blend a strong college prep curriculum with opportunities for the arts, co-curricular activities, service, and athletics to help each student mature and grow as a young Christian. We’re large enough to provide many different opportunities for you to explore, yet small enough for you to find your niche. Together with your church and family, we help you grow in your faith, develop your strengths and meet the challenge of new opportunities.

We know that you have many private school options in the Rockford area. The challenge is finding the best fit for you and your family values and priorities.

Please contact our Admissions Team at 815-877-9551 or for more information or to set up a visit.

The best way to evaluate if Rockford Lutheran School is a good fit for you is to visit during the school day. We offer shadow visits for prospective students and private family Educational Consultation meetings with our Principals and Admissions Team.

Let us share the Lutheran Crusader story. Learn about our school history, our values and beliefs, our culture, our programs, and find out if Crusader life is for you.

Family finances vary. We understand that and seek to work with you as your chosen educational partner. Over 40% of Lutheran students receive need-based tuition assistance and over 60% receive some financial award of one type or another. Because each family is unique, we hope you take time to meet with us and apply. Assistance is available through scholarships, grants and need-based support. Financial aid applications for the 2023-2024 school year open on October 1.
