EVERYBODY:
Yearbook Photos: Olson Photography will be here to take yearbook photos for 6,7, & 8th grades on Thursday, Sept. 29th and for 9, 10 & 11th grades on Friday, Sept. 30th. All students will have their photo taken for the yearbook. If you wish to purchase photos, bring your order form & money to Olson when you have your photo taken.
Diversity Ministry: Our first meeting of the year will be this Tuesday, Sept. 27th in room 228. Come be a part of a team which helps us celebrate the strength or our diversity.
Spanish Club First Meeting: Spanish Club is having our first meeting today, 9/26, at 3:15pm in Miss T’s room, 109. Come on down to learn about Spanish language, cultures, and hangout!
Homework Help: Do you need help with some Homework? Come to SPARK on Wednesday in the CORE from 3:20 to 4:00! SPARK is a peer tutoring group that wants to help answer your questions. Hope to see you there!
SENIOR HIGH:
High School Girls Basketball: All girls in 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade who are interested in playing basketball please sign up! The sign-up sheet is outside of Coach Kish’s office.
2023 Seniors Important announcement regarding the class of 2023 seniors and the 2023 yearbook portrait are due: Senior portraits for the Rockford Lutheran yearbook are currently being completed by Olson Photography. Call this week if you haven’t had your portrait taken at Olson Photography. The last call is now. To ensure that your photo will appear in the yearbook if you already had your portraits made, don’t forget to choose your yearbook pose and email Olson studio with this information as soon as you can. They urgently require your choice. Additionally, on the morning of Friday, September 30, any senior who has not been photographed by September 29th will have one final opportunity to do so in the gym. Juniors: All Juniors will be participating in the PSAT-NMSQT test on October 12. This will run periods 1-4. Please make appropriate arrangements if you have a late arrival. You will need pencils and a calculator.
In Youth We Trust: High school students interested in impacting our local community and developing great leadership skills should consider participating in the “In Youth We Trust Council”. This group supported by the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois meets one Saturday a month and distributes over $40,000 to community projects that benefit youth. Last year 25% of the council was from LHS. Consider joining! See Mr. Kortze for details.

JUNIOR HIGH:
JH Cross Country Practice: JH Cross Country practice will meet in room 123 (Mrs. Jensen’s room) at 3:30 today.
Student Life Meeting: Student Life meets tomorrow morning, Sept. 27, at 7:20am in room 223. See Mrs. Johnson or Mrs. Gustafson with questions.
JH Spelling Bee: Jr High students interested in participating in a spelling bee, see Mrs. Johnson in room 223.
Science Olympiad: The science olympiad team will start meeting tomorrow, September 27th at 3:30 in room 224 (Mrs Hansen’s room). This is for 6-8th graders. We will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays through the end of the season, which is in March or April depending upon how far we advance as a team.

This week detention will be supervised by Mr. Freudenberg in room 104.
