Cancer Awareness Week & Fundraiser: Bring your chemo care package items to homeroom this week. Items you may bring include: pens, mints/gum, toothbrushes, lip balm, travel tissue, hand sanitizer, or monetary donations. Thursdays dress color is black, Friday is pink.
Winter Sport Meeting: All athletes wishing to tryout for a winter sport must register and pay for the winter sports fee online at rl.8to18.com. A mandatory athlete/parent meeting will be held Monday, Oct. 20 at 7pm. Boys’ junior high 7th & 8th grade basketball will be starting early and tryouts are as follows: 7th grade boys basketball – Monday, Oct. 13, 5-6:30pm; 8th grade boys basketball – Monday, Oct. 13, 9-11am. Tryouts will be held in the junior high gym.
Blood Drive: The Rockford Lutheran blood drive will be tomorrow, October 16, in the auditorium. The signup sheet is located in the health office. Students 16 and older may participate. Sixteen year olds need a permission slip signed by a parent. Any student who either donates or brings in a volunteer to donate will receive a sticker that allows you to wear spirit wear with uniform bottoms on Wednesday, October 22nd.
HS Boys Soccer Results: Despite the pouring rain and muddy field conditions the team was victorious 1-0 over Rockford Christian and will move on to play Harvard Saturday at 11:00am in the Regional Final. Come out and cheer them on! Again congratulations on a well played game!
Girls Golf Results: Congratulations to the girls’ golf team for making it to sectionals and to Kelsey Page for qualifying for the state tournament tomorrow in Decatur, IL.
Boys Golf Results: Congratulations to Spencer Horst for qualifying for the state tournament in Bloomington.
Tennis Results: The Girls Tennis Team took FIRST PLACE at the Mendota Invite over the weekend, defeating 7 other teams. Congratulations girls and good luck at sectionals!
Sophomore Class Rings: Herff Jones will be here today, during lunch and from 4:30-7:00 p.m. in the library to take orders for class rings. Come see the many ring samples, get sized for your class ring, and design the ring that represents you! Juniors and Seniors are also welcome to attend if interested and extra order packets are available in the high school office.
Senior Class Shirts: Seniors, check out the T-shirt designs in your English room. We will vote during homeroom today, October 15. See Mrs. Volkert or Mr. Martin with questions.
Junior Class Concessions @ Volleyball Game: All juniors willing to help with concessions for the girls’ volleyball game on Thursday talk to Mr. Bier. The proceeds go to the prom committee.
