Service Hour opportunity: Holiday Shoppe fundraiser for Motherhouse Crisis Nursery. We are in need of “elves” to help. These elves are volunteers that would help us with taking the children shopping in our holiday shoppe. The volunteers would help with the shopping, wrapping, and other light duties. This takes place on December 7 and 8 (4pm-8pm) and December 9 (9am-5pm). Forms are in the guidance office this week only.
Attention Juniors and Seniors: We have a trip to Valparaiso University scheduled for Thursday, November 16th. We will leave at 6:15 and return by 3:15. Sessions are scheduled with faculty from the College of Nursing, College of Engineering and the Pre-Med program. Stop by the guidance office for forms. Paperwork is due 11/13. Space is limited.
Eco Club Meeting During Homeroom on Wednesday! Eco Club will be having a meeting tomorrow during homeroom. Meet in Mrs. Giamalva’s room (Room 103)
No-Late November: Are you turning your work in? Don’t give up. Persevere. It’s No-Late November! Your Jr. High Student Council will be celebrating all students who have met the goal of this initiative for turning in all homework on the day that it is due from Nov. 1st- 21st. Celebration day is Friday, Dec. 1st.
Jr. High Rec Night: The best place to be on a Friday Night? Jr. High Rec Night! Rec Night will be Friday, Nov. 17th, from 5:30-8:00pm. Tickets cost $5.00 which covers your admission & dinner – slice of pizza, chips, lemonade, and dessert. We will have lots of fun activities including gaga ball, 9-square in the air, bags, Just Dance & Mario Kart. New activities this year include an All Around the World Shootout Competition, and a Glow-in-the-Dark Dance Party! Buy your tickets before school or during lunch November 13th-16th.
Naked Turkey Fundraiser: Student Council will be collecting funds to give animal donations to communities across the world thru Heifer International. Together we can provide families a hand up, increasing access to medicine, school, food and a sustainable livelihood. To help us meet our goal, students can purchase feathers to cover their favorite teacher’s “naked” turkey. The teacher who has the turkey with the most feathers will become a turkey on Tuesday, November 21st by wearing a turkey costume all day. Feathers are 25 cents and can be purchased during lunch November 13th-17th.
JH Chess Club: JH Chess will begin meeting Tuesdays in room 102 starting Nov. 14th after school.
